Quick Note...

Hey,

Well, I wanted to drop a quick note this morning, so everyone knows I am alive. My Dad had dropped me an email saying I hadn´t written since my last blog in which I mentioned the other volunteer being drugged at the disco...so, I got to thinking maybe I should get on this morning and blog in case anyone else was worrying. :)

From Castro we went to Puerto Varas, which is a cute touristy town near Puerto Montt. It was a very nice town. People were polite. We rented a car as a group and drove to Volcan Osorno. Osorno was beautiful! I found myself kind of nervous on the drive up, thinking all sorts of catastrophic terror thoughts, like a volcano suddenly erupting. The guide book mentioned that Chile is the most volcanic country with x-amount of volcanos that could potentially blow at any moment. Seeing how there are two erupting right now, I just let my mind wonder. I do that every time I fly now too. Gosh, I might be closer to sitting still than I thought. :)

Anyway, after another overnight bus back to San Fernando where I was dropped off on the highway because the bus didn´t go to the terminal (Ana´s brother got up early and met me at the bus stop, the highway isn´t a safe place period). Then, I arrived to Santa Cruz around 10:30am. Felipe was having a girl visit from Santiago (kind of like a date...she was an old friend). Turned out the whole family had come (if this was a date...I sure as heck know I would me mortified to have my whole family come along...). So, basically it was no rest for me, which hurt because I hadn´t slept much on the bus, since I had dreams of missing my bus stop and kept waking up.

So, yesterday I took the bus to Santiago and then to Melipilla, where I am right now. We have winter camp starting today. I thought I would get all kinds of sleep last night, seeing how I am in a comfy hotel. That wasn´t the case...I am ready for a cup of instant coffee and maybe some water.

With that being said, I will write more later when I have a chance, I need to get moving...

Hugs,

Jami
